Our Carers in Mind team is hosting a fundraising Quiz Night on 24 April, 6.30-10pm, at St Luke’s in The Avenue, Kew, Richmond, TW9 2AJ. Tickets for the quiz night, including a delicious fish and chip supper, are £12.50 and need to be bought in advance.
On the night there will be a draw for our raffle which has a first prize of a one-week summer or winter stay for up to 6-8 guests in the French Alps. There are also a number of other smaller prizes. Raffle tickets are £1 per strip and can be bought in advance from Mind Shops in East Twickenham, Ham and Mortlake.
Tickets for the Quiz Night and the Raffle can be bought by emailing email@example.com texting 07801 200450 or calling 020 8940 7384.
All the funds raised from the quiz night and raffle will go towards giving carers a break from caring and a chance to socialise and take part in a range of activities and outings. Mental health carers face substantial challenges and are often very impacted by their experiences. The project works with carers to support them in their caring role and to help them maintain their own wellbeing; thereby also helping those they look after.
Kim Wilson, Carers in Mind Project Coordinator, said: “Social isolation can be a real problem for mental health carers. The chance to take part in social activities and outings with fellow carers is vital to helping us reduce that and in giving carers a better quality of life. One of the key elements of our service is providing social activities giving carers a much needed break and the opportunity to meet others with similar experiences. Our clients have said how important these social activities are to them”.
