World Mental Health Day is taking place on 10 October and as it falls within a week of National Poetry Day, Richmond Borough Mind has decided to take advantage of this happy coincidence to showcase a selection of poems by our service users on our social media.
Members of our Wellbeing Centre, Peer Network Group and Carers in Mind project contributed poems on the theme of ‘messages', the theme of this year’s National Poetry Day. We then filmed readings of the poems: some read by our service users, others on their behalf including one recited by Sir Trevor McDonald. On World Mental Health Day, starting at 6am, we will post one film to our Facebook and Twitter accounts every hour. Please look out for them on the day. We will then upload all the films to our website.
You can catch a sneak preview of two of the films on our newly re-launched YouTube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/user/RichmondBoroughMind
