Richmond Borough Mind on the 21st of September is hosting an Open Day in order to celebrate and raise awareness of the People's Network, a peer led project that operates across Richmond.
The People's Network trains and supports individuals who have or are recovery from mental health distress to lead and run a number of activity groups in the borough. We run training sessions twice a year and offer ongoing support. Currently the People's network has 7 weekly groups that take place in various locations in the borough and offer varied activities. Our Open Day is a good way to learn more about this project, and a great opportunity for individuals to meet our peer volunteers, and find out how they can attend one of our groups, or become a peer volunteer leader themselves.
The day will have a vaiety of guests including Deputy Mayor Bond, and a comedian from Cracking up doing a short sketch.
