Richmond Borough Mind aims to build on the existing strengths and knowledge within Black and Minority Ethnic communities and individuals to promote mental health in the community.

Capacity building & Fundraising

If you want to set up a project to promote mental health in your community, we can give advice and sometimes assist in funding applications.

Workshops

The Community Development Workers give workshops on mental health and well-being to the community. These workshops range from raising awareness and reducing stigma around mental health to giving information about the Mental Health Act.

Mainstream organizations

The BME Community Development Worker can provide information on outreach activities, BME community groups and partnerships. Please also have a look at the list of useful resources on this website!

BME Mental Health Steering Committee

The BME Mental Health steering committee aims to create a central vision in race equality in mental health by working together with the local Primary Care Trust, Mental Health Trust, Richmond upon Thames Council, local voluntary organizations and individual service users and carers.

Up to date, the achievements of the steering committee include information sharing regarding ethnicity monitoring
