Richmond Borough Mind has been supporting and providing services for working age people affected by mental distress and their carers for over 50 years.
The Wellbeing Centre – is a service we have been hosting in many incarnations since 1988. These posts are being recruited at an exciting and ever changing time for RB Mind and the Wellbeing Centre. We are further developing the way we provide day services for people with mental health problems, focusing developments on the key principles of Recovery and Wellbeing.
The Wellbeing Centre Officer posts are to join and become a crucial part of RB Mind’s Wellbeing Centre team. The main function of these posts is to assist in the delivery of RB Mind’s Wellbeing Centre activities in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames in particular our two services in Richmond and Mortlake.
The posts will work directly with a team of volunteers and your flexible can do attitude will not only be applied to the one to one therapeutic work associated with the role but also with the practical elements of running a dynamic centre. You will run some group activities and encourage users to participate in others run either by colleagues or outside partners. With outcomes in mind the Wellbeing Centre officers will engage with clients on a one to one basis, empowering individuals to examine their personal intentions and seek to create possibilities and goals that are meaningful for themselves and their lives. The ultimate goal is for the client to lead an empowered life in the community beyond mental health services.
This is an ideal role for anyone seeking to develop a career within Mental Health and seeking concrete experience of working alongside individuals with complex mental health needs.
