Wellbeing Centre Officer

£20,000 – £22,000 (pro rata) for 20 hours per week

Richmond Borough Mind is the biggest voluntary sector provider of mental health services for service users and carers across the communities of Richmond and Twickenham.  The Wellbeing Centre supports people under the care of the CMHT to work towards recovery using variety of therapeutic interventions. The main duties for this post include;

  • Group facilitation
  • Practical tasks of running the Wellbeing Centre
  • One-to-one case work


Reporting to the Wellbeing Centre Manager you will be a team player working closely with other Wellbeing Centre Officers and volunteers. The role would suit a graduate with experience of supporting vulnerable adults with complex issues, particularly people with serious mental illness and personality disorder. Strong communication skills and a flexible, positive attitude are essential for the role

QUALIFIED Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWP)


Band 5, circa £24,836, plus 5% Pension.

Do you have a qualification as described in the Person Specification, either a diploma or certificate as a psychological wellbeing practitioner, or a diploma or certificate as a Post Graduate Primary Care mental health worker, allowing you to practice in an IAPT PWP role?

Please note that if your answer is no, that you do not hold the qualification, we will not be able to proceed with your application.

Qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWPs) to work within the Step 2 IAPT service providing low intensity interventions which will be a range of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) based self- management interventions to clients with mild to moderate anxiety and depression.

You will be part of a team of Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWPs) offering low intensity assessment and interventions to people with mild to moderate mental health problems.

You will be enthusiastic and self-motivated and enjoy delivering a range of interventions in multiple formats including telephone face to face and groups.

We work closely with our Step 3 providers (ELFNT) and Primary Care Liaison team, to ensure the clients entering our service receive a well- rounded and comprehensive programme of care.

Referrals into the service are received by a single point of referral (SPOR) ensuring the client is able to receive a triage and obtain the correct level of support for their needs, prior to their referral into Step 2. Clients are able to obtain a treatment programme rapidly working this way (usually around 2 weeks) if they are fully flexible.

As part of continuing professional development we encourage and support all PWPs in the service to develop specialised areas of interest within Step 2.

With a base in Mind’s premises by Twickenham Green, you will travel to community settings throughout the Borough of Richmond.  Richmond Borough Mind is rooted in the local community and exists to meet local mental health needs.
