Engagement and Peer Services Officer

Salary: £24,480 per annum (pro rata)

Hours: 22.5 hours per week

Richmond Mind is the leading voluntary provider of mental health support in the borough. We see an increasing need for mental health support both in our existing service users and the wider population and you will be joining us at a time of significant opportunity for development.

We want to ensure service user voice is heard and services are co-produced to ensure services are designed that meet their needs. You will lead on arranging and delivering a series of consultation and engagement events designed to hear from our current, and potential, clients and stakeholders across our range of services.

Our peer led services provide individuals with a unique opportunity to offer and receive support in order to improve the quality of their own, and others’ lives.  You will coordinate and support our dynamic and exciting team of peer volunteers (who all have their own lived experience of mental health issues), to increase the wellbeing and resilience of our members through a programme of group support and activities.

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about motivating and coaching individuals with mental health issues, and with an understanding of how the recovery approach can support both volunteers and members on their journey to recovery. As well as having an empathy with the core values of RB Mind, the successful applicant will have experience of consultation, supporting volunteers, facilitating groups, and an awareness of the boundaries we work within when supporting vulnerable adults. The applicant will be enthusiastic and self-motivated, and must be able to work on their own initiative.

Successful candidates will be required to complete an enhanced DBS.

Richmond Borough Mind values diversity and difference.  We welcome applicants from all sections of the community, particularly individuals with lived experience of mental health problems.

Benefits of working for RB Mind:

  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays per year, increasing by 1 day per full year of service (up to a maximum of 30 days) [pro rata].
  • Bonus 1 day of annual leave per year over the festive period (subject to Trustee approval) [pro rata]
  • Flexible working/Option of working from home (subject to CEO approval)
  • Paid time off for medical appointments
  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
  • Training and personal development opportunities
  • Staff away days and socials
  • Access to shared resources and training opportunities via Mind Federated Network
