Join our #CarryTheBurden campaign!
Our #CarryTheBurden campaign is now up and running. You can check out what our Chief Executive, Val Farmer, is carrying as her burden and why on our Facebook page.
But we need more participants to carry an item of their choosing for 24 hours! Mental health is invisible and intangible which can lead to people with mental health problems encountering stigma; by making this invisible burden tangible, we can help to reduce this stigma.
- You can be as creative as you like: our supporter Roz (also on our Facebook page) is carrying an inflatable parrot representing negative thoughts, a mug – talking things through with friends, and a Yes sign – the pressure to say yes.
- Once you’ve chosen your item, add photos of yourself carrying the item to your social media with these words: ‘I’m helping @Richmondboroughmind to #CarryTheBurden. I’m carrying [insert item name] because [outline what the item represents].’
- Nominate 3 friends on social media to keep the challenge going and if you would like to donate please visit our JustGiving page.
