Mind ‘n’ Mortlake Overview
Mind ’n’ Mortlake provides activities and services to support mental well-being and an opportunity for people to meet and socialise at Barnes Childrens Centre. Hanson Close, off Lower Richmond Road, SW14 7HJ, on Wednesdays 12.30-2.30pm and Fridays 2-4.30pm.
Our friendly team assists service users to identify their needs, aspirations and goals with a view of supporting them in the community. Activities and events vary, from music appreciation, personal care workshops, assertiveness training, creative writing and one-to-one support.
We now also offer personal development activities that take place every Wednesday. On Friday the Peer Group Musical Minds runs 2-3pm and there is a drop-in with tea and coffee, 3- 4pm. On the last Friday of every month we will be going on an outing.
Mind in Mortlake has been described by our service users as a place of “great escape” where they can “carry on laughing”. The aim behind the social, educational and recreational activities is to assist those with a lack of support, low self-esteem and confidence, helping them make steps towards their goals.
