Kick-start your festive season by joining us for our Mental Elf Festive Fun Run on Sunday 6th December 2026. The fun and registration begin at 9:30AM, and the run begins at 11AM.
Whether you choose to run, walk, jog or jiggle your way around our festive 5K route in Marble Hill Park, every step you take will support Richmond Borough Mind and local people experiencing mental health challenges. It’s the perfect event to enjoy with friends, family, colleagues or even your four-legged companions, with festive fancy dress very much encouraged!
The event celebrates the connection between physical activity and positive mental wellbeing, and raises vital funds for our life-changing services. You can expect Christmas cheer: a festive sing-a-long, warm refreshments, eco-friendly finisher’s medals and a fantastic community atmosphere as we come together to show that nobody should face a mental health challenge alone.
The 5k route is 3 laps around the park. We want to involve as many community members as possible, so you are welcome to complete 1 or 2 laps of the route if you prefer.
Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Whether you’re aiming for a personal best or simply looking for a fun morning out with loved ones, everyone is welcome.

How To Get There
Marble Hill Park is located in between Twickenham and Richmond town centres. Mental Elves are strongly encouraged to arrive under their own steam or by public transport.

Parking onsite will be severely limited due to other events at Marble Hill Park, however on-street parking in the surrounding roads is available free of charge on Sunday mornings. Please refer to parking signage as this can vary by location.
Course Description
We start and finish on the green space opposite the Coach House Café in Marble Hill Park. This is where you will register for the event and collect your race number.
The Fun Run will be a three-lap course around Marble Hill Park. This is a park setting so the paths are not always paved and are liable to be muddy and uneven. Please take care when making your way around the route and wear appropriate footwear.
Toilets are available onsite and will be open throughout the event. They are located next to the Coach House Café which will be open and serving refreshments.
Course Safety
We wish to make the Mental Elf Festive Fun Run as safe as possible, so participants, spectators and helpers are asked to follow these tips to ensure that the event is fun and safe for everyone.
- Please be considerate to other park users at all times.
- Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied (within arm’s reach) throughout the event by a parent, guardian or appropriate adult of the parent’s choice.
- Please arrive by foot, pedal-power or public transport if you can – your efforts help to reduce our impact on the park and the planet.
- Take care on roads and car parks – some vehicles drive very quickly. Please congregate away from the cars and be particularly careful if you have children. If you’re driving to the event, please drive carefully even if you’re late!
- Take care on uneven surfaces – whether on grass or on tarmac. Watch out for cyclists, other participants, pedestrians, children, dogs, wildlife, park animals, vehicles, park maintenance work, falling branches, bollards, posts and other obstacles around the course.
- Please make sure you’re fit enough to take part at your own pace, whether you’re walking, jogging or running the full 5k (3 miles) or a shorter distance.
- If you see someone with a serious problem, please stop to help them out and get help as soon as possible.
- If you’re watching, keep clear of participants on the course, and look after any children and dogs you may have with you.
- You are welcome to take part with one dog by your side, always within reach, on a short, handheld, non-extendable lead. Please clear up and dispose of any waste. Doggy Elf tickets are available for purchase.
- Runners pushing buggies are welcome, but please take care of others around you and do your best to start at an appropriate place in the field for your pace.
