- Dickensian Tales
Dickensian Tales is a reading group in which one of the the team reads a Dickens novel aloud to the group.
We meet every first and second Thursday of the month, 11am-1pm at 32 Hampton Road. The first session takes place on Thursday, 5th October.
Charles Dickens wrote his novels in order to be read aloud and toured the country doing so. They include classics such as Great Expectations, The Pickwick Papers and Oliver Twist.
Research shows that reading can increase self-esteem; reduce symptoms of depression; help build better relationships; improve concentration; and reduce anxiety and stress. And reading a true master like Dickens makes this doubly so!
