All our volunteers receive one-to-one support and can reclaim their travel and lunch expenses as part of our volunteering practices.
Current Volunteer Roles
Youth Wellbeing Volunteers
We’re seeking new people to join our wonderful team of youth wellbeing volunteers on our exciting award-winning youth wellbeing service. The service is designed to support young people aged 8 – 25 and give them skills to increase their understanding of emotional wellbeing and build resilience through practical skills such as the 5 ways to wellbeing and Mindfulness.
We offer full training to equip you with the skills and knowledge to support young people and fulfil the role along with ongoing support and development through supervision. Training will take place over 5 weeks in May and June. Counselling and Psychotherapy Volunteers

Peer Group Network- Food, Nutrition and Cooking Volunteer
Volunteer with our Peer Group Network to improve the knowledge and health of our members.
If you have an interest and ideally a qualification in Food and Nutrition, this is the perfect opportunity for you!
As a Peer Group Network Volunteer at Richmond Borough Mind, you will have the opportunity to work with and educate adults with lived experience of Mental Health issues about the importance of a balanced diet and food.
Your knowledge will help us to provide and develop a group where you will demonstrate and teach skills such as food preparation, cooking methods, budgeting and health and nutrition.
You will work on providing the group with the necessary support to gain an understanding on this topic, educating our Members on good and poor food choices and it’s impact on health and wellbeing, finding ways to encourage and spread awareness about food choices.
You will support practical workshops, cooking and activity groups once a fortnight on a day to be decided. Cooking on a budget is key and we will look to do 6 weeks of breakfast and then lunch and dinner, snacks. Lived experience of Mental Health issues is desirable.
This role involves providing valuable administrative support to RB Mind’s service leads.
HOURS: Times as per availability
BASED AT: either 32 Hampton Road, Twickenham TW2 5QB or Ist. Floor Rear, UK House, 82 Heath Rd, Twickenham TW1 4BW
Duties can include typing up and formatting documents, using Excel spreadsheets, entering monitoring data into online databases and sending correspondence via post and email. You can download the role description here
